The Bluewave kayak is the perfect companion for anyone looking to get out on the water with absolute ease. It’s a sit-on-kayak that incorporates fishing compatibilities and is a great all-round recreational kayak which is ideal for lakes, rivers, estuaries and the sea.

It’s stable, fast and very comfortable thanks to its padded seating and range of foot rest positions.

When you purchase the Bluewave kayak you’ll get:

  • Paddle
  • Padded seat
  • 5 fishing rod holders – 4 flush and one swivel mounted

The Bluewave kayak has a streamline design that is great for steering, tracking and overall manoeuvrability.

With its pointed bow at the front, it’s great for cutting through the water allowing you to paddle faster and track in a straight line. Take out on the sea and you’ll see how effective it is at cutting through the waves.

It glides well which doesn’t put too much strain on your arms so makes it great for long distance exploring.

It’s made of high quality roto moulded plastic which provides optimum buoyancy and allows you to hold a lot of gear – so no need to worry about sinking!

Even if the kayak takes on some water from the splash of waves or the paddle, not to worry, the scupper holes at the bottom will drain it out in no time.

Bluewave have designed this kayak in range of colours from red, yellow, white, pink and army camo to name a few so you’ll be sure to find the one that best represents you!

With the Bluewave kayak you get the paddle included….bonus!

The paddle is made of aluminium with 2 curved fins at either end; this offers a better stroke through the water each time so you can paddle faster with less effort.

Due to its design, the kayak has a lower centre of gravity meaning you stay closer to the water’s surface. This provides greater stability so you’re not swaying side to side when paddling.

One of the main capabilities of this kayak is its fishing components. Bluewave designed this kayak for people who want to fish whilst kayaking.

It goes without saying that the best chance of catching fish is further out in the deeper water and this kayak will help you get there.

One of the main benefits of this kayak is just how easy it is to fish from it.

It has 4 fishing rod holders at either side of the kayak and 1 main mounted fishing rod holder that swivels and pivots which sits between your legs.

All you need to do is set up your fishing rods, place them in the holders and sit back and relax. It’s just a great alternative rather than you’re arms getting sore from holding the fishing rod all day.

One of the main advantages of having this sit-on kayak is that you can stand up while you fish so you can reel in your line with greater effort.

The amount of storage you can hold with this kayak is incredible.

It has 2 water tight storage hatches, one at the front and the other just in front of the seat. They are great for keeping valuables safe, storing small items of gear or even a few fish – just make sure to wash it out well once you take them out!

Behind you at the stern is a large luggage area where you can store or hold any backpacks, fishing or camping gear. This is all secured down with bungee straps so your gear remains secure at all times. Bear in mind though that this is on top of the kayak so it can be prone to water splash but you can store any electronic equipment in the storage hatches anyway.

Sitting in the Bluewave kayak is actually quite comfortable.

It has enough room so you can stretch your legs out or even hang them off the side of the kayak and dip your feet in the water. Great on a summer’s day.

There are numerous foot rest positions which will allow you to find the right fit for you.

The padded seat gives you the extra comfort needed when out kayaking. It’s strong, stable and will provide that excellent lumber support that will keep your back straight and free of stiffness or injury.

Paddling for hours on end can begin to take its toll on your muscles so as the Bluewave kayak is a sit-on kayak, you can stand up and stretch out easily without the kayak swaying side to side.

If you have a love for fishing, recreational kayaking or both, then this is the kayak for you.

The Bluewave kayak will certainly allow you to enjoy the open water as it’s very easy to track and manoeuvre.

This kayak is built to last and comes with a lifetime warranty so you can be sure that it will hold its value even after years of wear and tear.

In order to make sure you get the absolute most out of your kayak, it is key to take care of it. I’ve wrote an article on how you can improve the longevity of your kayak. Check it out.

  1. This looks like a great kayak! I can’t wait to get one someday. I’m held back by no where to store it and lack of time right now, but that will change someday, too.

Would you say this one is easy to operate for clumsy people/beginners? My husband is both of those things, hah! I would like to get one that I trust him with, too.

    1. Hi Holly,

Most certainly, this kayak is great for beginners, even for people who are not the best on water hah!

Due to its design, sturdiness and streamline features it’s very easy to use and navigate on the water.
